I Am From

A am from the pillow on the couch

from the blankets and the windows by the dining table

i am from the Italian feeling of the arches (the vanilla smell)

i am from rosemary of the garden

the palm tree bushes in the front yard

who’s long gone limbs i remember

as if they were my own

I’m from the gatherings and dancing

from the welas and welos

I’m from the barbecue and pool parties

and from shopping at the Flea

I’m from the respect for ones older than you and honesty

and the “one song they always play at Mexican weddings”

I’m from the lessons in the bible

I’m from Arizona and Spain, mexico and south Texas

from morning cow langua tacos and pandulce

from the times we go the South Padre Island

and the shrimp from that restaurant that has a large pirate ship on the docks.

the memories of parties and swimming with my family

placed in that box of pictures in the cabinet and in the hearts of my family.

A Wookie

I’m a Wookie. i live on the planet of kashyyyk. My home is on the side of a tree high up above the lakes. My fantasy home would have a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake, and every morning you feel the crisp air tickling your skin. The inside would have a dark, lovely looking wood finish. With lights that feel like tiny little fire places spreading warmth like a hearth. The sounds of the bellowing land creatures, the Katarn, echoing all around the inside of the tree. The aroma of a fresh forest fills your lungs with peace and tranquility. The taste of a freshly caught and cooked fish slowly spreads over you tongue like a wave of happy feelings. The Wookies around you bustle with excitement of what is to do today. And finally the the sense of belonging in a family envelopes you as you sit on the balcony slowly taking in the beautiful three moons of Kashyyyk.

The Seagull

I am a seagull. Basic. I like fish and water. Sand is nice as well. when i hatched from my egg my first thought was:”Hungry. Hungry? Hungry. HUNGRY!!!” Ever since then i have always thought about food. Other than food little other thoughts cross my mind. I mean I’ve thought about water but foods in water so… I see other birds on the beach a lot but it looks like they want fish. they get those little squirmy things on the ground and those hard shells that the waves bring in. but fish are where its at. They are the best food on the beach. However when rains come the small fish disappear and are replaced by the big fish. Far too large for any seagull to catch. In that case i guess squirmy things are fine. Most of the time I’m looking for a good looking fish that’s not too big but not too small. I’m sorry, i keep talking about food. Speaking of witch ya got any? No? OK. Any ways that’s my life. do I got any hopes and dreams? Sure I do! They consist of food! There’s not much else for a seagull to achieve in life. well, I got to go get some food. See ya!

The Waves That Smiled

There sat a lighthouse on the coast. This coast was a small length of sandy beach. As well as there was a town on that beach. And this town was a small yet happy town. The people were always busy, the children played and the small trucks went back and forth from the town to the bay were they fished. There were many storms that came over the small town but yet the waves never touched the town. In fact the highest they would get, would be during high tide. The days of the town passed by slowly though. The sun would come up glistening over the peaceful water that had occasional morning fishing boats. As the the sun come over the town, it awoke. With the same small trucks going to the bay, and the same people opening their shops, and the same children playing. As the noon came the waves would crawl up the beach and lick the base of the light house. Then they would crawl back down towards the ocean. As winter same the town would gather on the last day of summer and have a gathering on the beach. And they would always make sure to give back towards the ocean. Weather that meant cleaning or not fishing for one day. And after every day the ocean would make sure that the town was protected. One day there was reports of a hurricane that was expected to make land fall at the small town. As the towns people began to evacuate, the waves calmly looked over the town with an expression of protection and somehow a happy face. Three days later the towns people began arriving back towards the town, expecting to be greeted with a destroyed town due to reports of other towns having been destroyed. Yet when they arrived the town was in near perfect condition. They were amazed. the towns people began to praise the ocean for protecting them. And at the end of that day they had a party of celebration for the surviving of the town. And as the sun set the waves of the beach smiled, for he knew that no harm would come to the town.

The Obsession

Once there was a man who loved cars. he loved them so much that when he grew up he strive to collect all the cars he had wanted. But as a result he would forget about friends and family. he thought that having all the cars he wanted that would fill the hole of having no friends or family. He was wrong. He could never get the satisfaction he desired, no matter how many cars he bought he was never happy. Until he decided to reach out and find friends. When he found friends he found happiness.

TDEC

From my personal understanding i think that TDEC is a way to express you thoughts onto an essay paper.

  1. Thesis- The thesis is the central idea of you essay and should be conveyed first and should be clear.
  2. Detail- The detail can be a quote or a statement from a respected source. This should be in support of you main idea.
  3. Explain- This should expand on the detail and give more facts on it.
  4. Commentary- This should be you take on the detail and show what you think of it, and just be general commentary.

An interesting post

This is a short story of a kid who thought he was always and extrovert who was always out going. one day he his teacher told him to take the Myers Briggs test which told him that he was an introvert and didn’t talk to anyone. he was shocked at the result. He was in deep thought for the rest of the day. when he got home he ha come to the conclusion that maybe he was an introvert. when he woke up the next morning he decided he was an introvert so for the rest of the week he didn’t talk to anyone . finally on the last day of the week his best friend asked him what wrong. he replied that he was an introvert who kept to himself. his friend almost died of laughter at this. he looked at his friend and asked why hes laughing. his friend replied with” that has got to be the most outrageous thing i have ever heard!” he then invited him to go hang out with him that weekend with some friends. he thought about it and said why not. that weekend the next day he arrived at the gathering spot they were supposed to meet. he saw his other friends laughing and having a great time. he kinda sat back and just kept to himself. he felt this sense of longing to go have fun. eventually he gave in a=and went to hang with his other friends. At the end of the gathering he and his friend were the only ones left. they were talking and his friend said to him” man don’t listen to what some dumb test tells you, be yourself! And you are not an introvert!” from then on he was the regular person he always was.

Why English?

Why do schools study English? I mean English not learning the alphabet and reading. In my opinion schools teach English as it is something that most of us will need in life. Such examples writing you resume, writing in collage, and maybe for a living. With such important needs for this you should try your best to get the most out of this class. One may do this by always looking into the background of things. Such as a book, you can ask why did the author write this title, was there a motivation to do so? Another would be to try and connect the story with you as this might make you look at the story from another angle/perspective. Simple practices such as these can help you get the best out of reading.

To help get the best out of writing you can try some of these practices. Try not to use basic words. avoid some of the basic words for feeling such as happy, sad, tired, bored, and scared. But instead use more complex words. Another way can be to have a friend read it to help you. thanks for reading today and and have a beautiful day!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
